INTRODUCTION On September 9, 2011, appellant Maria Flores Lopez committed a violation of Penal Code section 243, subdivision (d),1 battery with serious bodily injury. On September 28, 2011, Lopez pled no contest to the charge, pursuant to a plea agreement with an indicated sentence.
