Opinion

LAVINE, J. The petitioner, Troy S. Thomas, appeals from the judgment of the trial court denying his petition for a new trial.1 On appeal, the petitioner claims that the trial court improperly (1) granted the motion to strike filed by the respondent, the state of Connecticut, and (2) denied his petition for a new trial. We affirm the judgment of the trial court. The following procedural history and facts provide an overview of the events that give rise to this appeal. On July 23, 2003, the petitioner was arrested in the vicinity of 57 Belden Street in Hartford. Evidence was presented to a jury, which, on September 22, 2004, found the petitioner guilty of ``possession of narcotics with the intent to sell in violation of General Statutes
