(S11G0867) The Supreme Court of Georgia has ruled against the grandparents of their son's daughter, agreeing with the Georgia Court of Appeals that the girl's adoptive father is her legal "parent" under the law. Carrie Jean and Jason Kunz divorced in June 2002, four months before their daughter was born. She later married Douglas Bailey, and in 2006, Jason surrendered his parental rights, and Douglas adopted the child.
