HINES, Justice. Malcolm Taurean Johnson appeals his convictions for malice murder, aggravated assault, and possession of a firearm or knife during the commission of a felony in connection with the fatal shooting of Dedric Dequan Thomason and the wounding of Roscoe Gordon. His sole challenge is that his trial counsel rendered ineffective assistance. For the reasons that follow, we find the challenge to be without merit, and we affirm.1 The evidence construed in favor of the verdicts showed the following.

The crimes occurred on January 30, 2008. On June 4, 2008, a Gwinnett County grand jury indicted Johnson along with Dalva Ray Wilson and Rosby Eugene Cobb for Count 1
