Second District Docket No. 2-10-0982 July 27, 2011 A complaint against Texas defendants alleging conversion, fraud and replevin in connection with the sale of a painting was properly dismissed for the lack of personal jurisdiction, since defendants did not have continuous and systematic contacts with Illinois, they had no office in Illinois, there was no evidence of direct marketing to Illinois residents, they did not initiate the transaction, they never entered Illinois, and they responded to solicitations, and, therefore, defendants lacked sufficient minimum contacts with Illinois to allow Illinois courts to exercise personal jurisdiction over them.
