Appellate Court Caption

THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, Plaintiff-Appellee, v. HERNANDO CARDONA, Defendant-Appellant.

District & No.

Second District Docket No. 2-10-0542 March 2, 2012 The appellate court affirmed the trial court's ruling at a certification hearing requiring defendant, who was acquitted of indecent solicitation of a child and found not not guilty of unlawful restraint at a discharge hearing held after his schizophrenia raised the issue of his fitness, to register as a sex offender, notwithstanding defendant's contention that the trial court could not logically find that the unlawful restraint was sexually motivated when defendant was acquitted of indecent solicitation, since the evidence more than "indicated" that defendant was motivated to engage in conduct of a sexual nature. Appeal from the Circuit Court of Lake County, No. 07-CF-2036; the Hon. Fred L. Foreman, Judge, presiding.
