2 VAITHESWARAN, J. A Des Moines detective interrogated Vincent Walls about the sex abuse and beating of a woman and the confinement of another woman in the trunk of a car. Walls partially confessed. The State charged Walls with first- and second-degree sexual abuse, second-degree kidnapping, first-degree robbery, and willful injury causing serious injury. Iowa Code
