OPINION OF THE COURT BY CHIEF JUSTICE MINTON
AFFIRMING

A circuit court jury convicted Stephon Newcomb of two counts of firstdegree rape, one count of first-degree criminal trespass, and one count of intimidating a participant in a legal proceeding. Newcomb received a sentence of 25 years' imprisonment for his convictions. He now appeals from the judgment as a matter of right,' contending 1) the trial court erroneously declined to sever the charges involving two alleged female victims for separate trials; 2) he was entitled to a directed verdict on the rape charges relating to one of the alleged victims;
