Now before the Court are the parties' Joint Petition for Order Placing Respondent on Inactive Status and Respondent's Affidavit which accompanied the Joint Petition. This Cou rt having con sidered the Join t Petition and Respond ent's Affidavit, it is this 2 nd day of May, 2007, ORDERED, by the Court of Appeals of Maryland, that the Respondent, Melvin Thomas Myers, is hereb y paced on inactive statu s by consen t, pending further order of this Co urt; and it is further ORDERED, that further proceedings on the professional misconduct charges contain ed in th e Petitio for D isciplin ary or Rem edial A ction filed again st the Re spond ent are stayed until such time, if ever, as the Respondent satisfies this court that his inactive status should be term inated and h e shou ld be rein stated to active pra ctice, and it is further ORD ERED , that the Clerk of th is Court s hall strik e the na me of M elvin Th oma s Myers from the register of attorneys in this Court and certify that fact to the Trustees of the Client Protection Fu nd of the Ba r of Maryland and the clerk s of all judicial tribu nals in this S tate in accordance with Maryland Rule 16-772(d)
