Siddi Jon has brought this pro se action against various defendants. Defendants have filed a motion to dismiss on the ground of collateral estoppel/res judicata. Plaintiff has responded to the motion. The motion will be granted.1 Plaintiff filed a prior action in the Circuit Court for Baltimore County, Maryland, arising out of the same transaction that is the subject of this case. Jon v. Chain, et. al., Case No. 03-C06-13815. A final judgment was rendered against plaintiff in that action. Accordingly, plaintiff's maintenance of this action is precluded. See generally Anne Arundel County Bd. of Educ. v. Norville, 390 Md. 93, 107-08, 887 A.2d 1029, 1037-38 (2005). The fact that some of the defendants in the present action were not parties to the Baltimore County action is of no consequence because under Maryland law the doctrine of mutuality no longer exists. See generally Pat Perusse Realty Company v. Lingo, 249 Md. 33, 45, 238 A.2d 100, 107 (1968); Caldor v. Bowden, 330 Md. 632, 657, 625 A.2d 959, 971 (1993). There are several other motions that are pending but these motions are mooted by my granting of defendants' motion to dismiss.
