COURT OF APPEALS

In the Matter of KAYLA CHRISTINA NOVAKOSKI, Minor.

CHRISTINA RUTH NOVAKOSKI, Petitioner-Appellant, v CATHOLIC SOCIAL SERVICES, Respondent-Appellee.

UNPUBLISHED January 13, 1998

No. 202747 Kent Juvenile Court LC No. 97-017199-AD

Before: Gage, P.J., and Murphy and Reilly, JJ. MEMORANDUM. Petitioner appeals as of right from the juvenile court's denial of her motion for rehearing of her release of parental rights to the minor child. We affirm. We review the juvenile court's decision on a motion for rehearing regarding a release of parental rights for an abuse of discretion. See In re Curran, 196 Mich App 380, 381; 493 NW2d 454 (1992). The record indicates that petitioner understood that she was permanently releasing her rights to visitation, determination of medical treatment and educational planning. She signed a statement indicating that her release was not affected by any collateral or separate agreement with the adoptive parents or the agency. The court's denial of petitioner's motion for rehearing was not an abuse of discretion. Affirmed. /s/ Hilda R. Gage /s/ William B. Murphy /s/ Maureen Pulte Reilly
