Following a jury trial, defendant was convicted of first-degree criminal sexual conduct, MCL 750.520b(1)(e); MSA 28.788(2)(1)(e), third-degree CSC, MCL 750.520d; MSA 28.788(4), and assault with intent to commit great bodily harm less than murder, MCL 750.84; MSA 28.279. He subsequently pleaded guilty to being an habitual offender, second offense, MCL 769.10; MSA 28.1082. Defendant was sentenced to 25 to 40 years' imprisonment for the first-degree CSC conviction, 12 to 22
