On September 13, 2000, this court abated this appeal to the trial court to hold an abandonment hearing. See Tex. R.
App. P. 38.8(b)(2). On September 29, 2000, the trial court notified this court that, prior to conducting the abandonment
hearing, Roberto Vela, appellant's attorney, informed the trial court that appellant no longer wishes to prosecute this
appeal. That information was conveyed to the trial court in a copy of a motion to dismiss. On September 27, 2000,
appellant filed a motion to dismiss this appeal by withdrawing his notice of appeal. The motion complies with Texas
Rule of Appellate Procedure 42.2(a).
It is therefore ORDERED that this appeal is reinstated on the docket of this court. The motion is granted and this
appeal is dismissed. See Tex. R. App. P. 42.2(a).
