DAVID A. STICH Plaintiff, v. MICHAEL J. ASTRUE, Commissioner of the Social Security Administration Defendant. Case No. 09-C-0483

DECISION AND ORDER Plaintiff David Stich1 applied for social security disability benefits, claiming that he could no longer work due to back and abdominal pain and mental impairments. The Social Security Administration ("SSA") denied the application initially (Tr. at 55; 56; 58; 62; 778) and on reconsideration (Tr. at 57; 67; 783; 779), as did an Administrative Law Judge ("ALJ) after a hearing (Tr. at 23-33). Plaintiff submitted additional evidence to the SSA's Appeals Council, but the Council denied review (Tr. at 6; 9),2 making the ALJ's decision the agency's final ruling on the application. See Nelms v. Astrue, 553 F.3d 1093, 1097 (7th Cir. 2009). Plaintiff now seeks judicial review of the ALJ's decision pursuant to 42 U.S.C.
